Paz Christine Cecilio started playing the piano at the age of five. At the age of 11, she won a scholarship at the University of the Philippines where she would later receive her Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Major in Piano Performance, Magna Cum Laude. She was also awarded one of the most outstanding students and was inducted to the Phi Kappa Phi International Honor Society. That same year she was the featured Young Artist in Focus at Paco Park which was aired live nationwide. She also won 1st prize at the Yamaha Interscholastic Piano Competition in 1990 & 1994. She has registered all seven books of the Suzuki Piano School under Fay Adams, Diana Galindo, and Nehama Patkin.
Christine studied privately with Prof. Nina Scolnik, a noted concert pianist, clinician and professor at U.C. Irvine, for over a decade. She also studied with internationally acclaimed pedagogue Edna Golandsky, and Prof. Carmencita Arambulo, President of the Philippine Suzuki Association.
